Loved the HUGE rooms and gorgeous garden views 🌼 The bath was a blissful touch. But. My vegetarian meal was a bit underwhelming compared to my companion's. Still a lovely stay!

Dinner that dazzled our senses
The staff was accommodating and the traditional kaiseki dinner was a culinary journey, beautifully presented with local flavors. The serene garden view from our spacious room made mornings magical, while the outdoor rooftop bath was perfect for unwinding under the stars after a day of exploring.
There were times when the noise from neighboring rooms marred the tranquility, possibly due to limited soundproofing. I found the wifi access somewhat concerning as it was on an open network.

The traditional tatami flooring brought a unique charm to my stay. I loved the fine view of the garden from my room, perfect for morning coffee. The Japanese breakfast included some good dishes, though I missed a few options I'd hoped for. The staff were attentive throughout my visit, especially during dinner service. The kaiseki dinner amazed me with its presentation, showcasing local ingredients. Some issues arose with the futons. They weren't laid out beforehand, and I found a few hairs on them. The shower room could've used a better cleaning, as it had an unpleasant smell. Location felt a bit isolated from public transport, made getting around slightly challenging.

The staff were very helpful and friendly.
I felt cheated for our garden view room since we were given one at the far end with no visible garden. The atmosphere during the dinner seemed like dining in the lobby, and my request for coffee during breakfast was painfully ignored, unacceptable. For what we paid, I expected much more, including access to the outdoor bath without an extra fee.

It was just a balanced option for a momentary pause in Kyoto with really good value. The breakfast offered a good variety of local options that I enjoyed. Make sure to bring your own toiletries as they don't provide much.
